100% Central Coast Pinot Noir
We’ve picked up and down the Central Coast from each prominent wine region in pursuit of our single-minded mission — impossibly good 100% Pinot Noir at an accessible price.
Have you ever heard of MEGA PURPLE? If you’ve drank any standard-shelf “Pinot Noir,” YOU’VE LIKELY DRANK IT. Most wines labeled “Pinot Noir” on the shelf are NOT TRUE PINOT NOIRS, but RED BLENDS. This means the wine you’re drinking was made using other, less expensive grape varietals… and often it means the use of artificial additives.
WE WANTED SOMETHING DIFFERENT…
…something that, at first, seemed near impossible. We wanted to tame this tricky varietal into an honest, quality liquid that we, as wine lovers, ACTUALLY WANTED TO DRINK.
“For there is no folly of the beast of the earth that is not infinitely outdone by the madness of men.”
– Herman Melville, Moby Dick
This red wine is made to be expressive, elegant, & approachable. The resulting wine is a nuanced, mono-varietal Pinot Noir with Old-World characteristics, but made in a modern style and showcasing California’s Central Coast. Fermented in stainless steel then gently pressed and allowed to mature in French oak prior to bottling.

Meet the Winemaker.
RYAN ZOTOVICH has been making Pinot Noir for thirteen years. This includes his time producing wine at a high-end estate winery known for producing one of the most sought after Pinot Noirs in the world.
He takes his experience handcrafting premium Pinot Noir and applies it to each new vintage of Folly of the Beast, with a minimal intervention philosophy and a refusal to cut corners. “It’s all about rethinking the use of small-production techniques for larger-scale wines,” says Zotovich.
His expertise of this fickle grape helps him rise to the winemaking challenge of producing a high-quality 100% Pinot Noir at an affordable cost.
